Can someone please help me?? I have found a used Kubota GF1800 two wheel drive lawnmower with a 60 inch front cutting deck. The cart and lawn sweeper will be included. There is 190 hours of use on the machine. They are asking $10 000. (private sale). Is this a good price?? If not, what is reasonable? Thanks, Jen.

Jen, I don't know the list price on this front mower, but I did find a used 4WD model GF1800 with 106 hours asking $8475, and that is from a dealer. See link below. I've got to believe that the 4WD costs more than the 2WD, so maybe $10,000 is a little steep for the one you are looking at. If the cart and the lawnsweeper are just tow-behinds, they don't cost much new - you can see them at www.notherntool.com. ....

Jen found another one asking $6500 from a dealer, but can't tell if it is 2 or 4WD, and don't know the hours. See link below. ....

OK Jennifer, here we go. A GF1800, looks like 2WD, 170 hours, asking $6500 from a dealer. With a picture. See link below. It has a 54 inch deck rather than the 60 inch, but that difference isn't worth thousands. A tow-behind sweeper is $150-300 new, depending on the size and a tow-behind cart is in the same ballpark, depending on size and quality. So under best of circumstances the cart and sweeper are worth maybe $500 new. Given this data, I think a reasonable price might be in the $6000-7500 range considering it is a private sale. At least from a dealer, you can negotiate a 30-day or a 50/50 warranty or something in case there is a problem with the machine. ....
